Progress on new ice rink for Canberra

The ACT government have selected Cruachan Investments to develop and operate a new ice sports facility following a lengthy expression of interest period. The facility is expected to built in the suburb of Greenway and will feature two Olympic-sized ice sheets and have a capicity of 2,000. Work on a detailed proposal and review of the Greenway site will now be undertaken by Cruachan Investments and is expected to be submited in early 2021. Cruachan Investments is the same company behind the now stalled Ice Rinks Adelaide project which saw their Playford ice rink shelved by the Playford Council in March 2019.
