Ice Hockey Australia (IHA) have announced new naming standards for their national championships and development camps while State associations are also being encouraged to adopt the new standard. The standards uses a numerical terminology to reflect the age-based competitions replacing the terms of mite, novice, atom, peewee, bantam and midget. The change also aligns the IHA with Hockey Canada and USA Hockey who switched to the new system for the 2020-21 season.
