The Sydney Bears have defeated the Newcastle Northstars 7-4 in their exhibition game at the Macquarie Ice Rink. The game is the first in a series of three exhibition games between the two teams with the next two set to be held at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium on 5 June and 7 August.
