AIHL Brisbane Inc. have named Ben Spillane as their inaugural head coach. Spillane is a former member of the Brisbane/Gold Coast Blue Tongues having played eight seasons for the club from 2005 to 2012. As a coach Spillane has been part of the Brisbane Blitz in the Australian Junior Ice Hockey League, acting as an assistant coach from 2017 to 2019. AIHL Brisbane is currently working towards joining the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) for the 2022 season.
