A statement released by the operator of the Adelaide Ice Arena has claimed that the CBR Brave is looking to leave the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) in favour of the newly founded Pacific Hockey League (PHL). The CBR Brave have yet to comment on the claim but are expected to make an announcement in the coming days. The AIHL, who have also are yet comment, recently released their 2022 season schedule which included the CBR Brave.
The PHL launched last week with three confirmed teams based out of Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne. The league also made mention of teams based out of Canberra and the Central Coast.
