2022 Women’s World Championships: Australia defeats Croatia

The Australian women’s national team have defeated Croatia 13–0 in their second game of the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group B tournament. Forward Courtney Mahoney was named best Australian player of the match after scoring a hattrick and posting a +5 plus/minus. In the other games since our last update South Africa beat Croatia 3–2 and Iceland defeated Turkey 3–2. With their win Australia moves into first on the standings, edging out Iceland on goal difference. The team returns to action tonight when they take on South Africa. These two teams last met at the 2007 World Championships where Australia won 18–1.
