Continuing our look at the Australian players who were competing overseas during the 2021-22 season. Today is Part 3 of 4 featuring Australians in the United States.
Ruth Marscham: First season with Paul Smith’s College. Playing in the Upstate New York Club Hockey League Marscham competed in one game, scoring no points.
Dexton Mozell: First season with Neumann University. Playing in the NCAA’s Division III Mozell recorded eight points from his 20 games and picked up 32 penalty minutes.
Zachary Okabe: Third season with St. Cloud State University. Playing in the NCAA’s Division I Okabe competed in 37 games, scoring 28 points and finishing the season with a +1 plus/minus.
Reilly Piersimoni: Second season with Phillips Exeter Academy. Playing in the United States High School, Preparatory system Piersimoni scored ten points from 28 games. He also competed in one game for the
New England Fall Prep Hockey League’s Central 19 & under team in the New England Fall Prep Hockey League 19U division where he recorded one point.
Andrew Penca: Third season with the Indy Junior Fuel. Playing on their 18 & under AAA team in the North American Prospects Hockey League’s 18U division Penca recorded eight points from 31 games.
Hayden Plimley: Second season with the Westchester Express. Playing on their 15 & under AAA team in 15U AAA competition Plimley recorded a 0.903 save percentage and a 3.14 goals against average from 30 games. Plimley also competed in two games for the Express in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League’s 15O division where he posted a 0.901 save percentage and a 3.45 goals against average.
Neil Pretorius: Second season playing for the Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy and first with the Cleveland Barons. With the Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy Pretorius played on their 18U Prep team in 18U AA competition where he scored ten points from 18 games. Pretorius also spent part of his season with the Cleveland Barons’ 18U AAA team where he competed in 18U AAA competition, scoring three points from 28 games, and in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League’s 18U division where he posted one assist from eleven games. Heading into 2022-23 Pretorius has signed with the Northern Cyclones to play on their 18U AAA team in the United States Premier Hockey League’s 18U division.
Shai Rabinowitz: Third season in the Federal Prospects Hockey League and first since the 2016-17 season when it was known as the Federal Hockey League. Starting the season of with the Delaware Thunder Rabinowitz scored three points from 18 games. He then moved across to the Binghamton Black Bears where he competed in two games. Rabinowitz then left the Black Bears to join the Bytown Royals in the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League.
