The Adelaide Avalanche have defeated the Melbourne Ducks 4–3 in Game 1 of the 2022 Walker Cup Finals at iceHQ. The Avalanche had qualified for the finals after defeating the Brisbane Rampage last weekend in the elimination playoff while the Ducks had advanced after finishing the 2022 PHL regular season in first place. Competition resumes on 13 August for Game 2 of the best-of-three series.
