Day 37 of the 2022 Australian Ice Hockey League season has finished with the Melbourne Ice defeating the Newcastle Northstars in overtime at the O’Brien Icehouse. With their win the Melbourne Ice move into fifth place on the standings while the Sydney Ice Dogs drop into sixth. As a result of the Newcastle Northstars loss the CBR Brave finish the regular season in first on the standings and claim the 2022 H Newman Reid Trophy. Competition resumes tomorrow with the Melbourne Mustangs hosting the Newcastle Northstars at the O’Brien Icehouse.
