The Australian Ice Hockey League have penalised the Sydney Bears three points after they were found to have more than six imports listed on their active roster. The league’s import rules allow teams to have up to six North American or European imports and one Asian import signed to their active roster. As a result of the decision the Sydney Bears drop to second on the Hellyer Conference standings and are now one point behind the Melbourne Mustangs. The team also drops from second to third on the league’s combined standings.
