Australians overseas 2022-23: Canada (part 3)

Continuing our look at the Australian players who were competing overseas during the 2022–23 season. Today is Part 3 of 5 featuring Australians in Canada.

Bodie Jerome: Second season with the Yale Hockey Academy. Playing on their under-17 Prep team in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League’s U17 division Jerome recorded nine goals and eight assists in his 38 games.

Zane Jones: First season back in Canada after spending the last five in Sweden and the United States. Re-signing with the Innisfail Eagles of the Chinook Hockey League, having last played for the club in 2016–17, Jones competed in six games and recorded five points.

Jed Lake: After spending the off-season representing Victoria at the 2022 Sydney Tange National Championship Lake joined the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy for his first season. Playing on their Sea Devils U16 Prep team in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League’s (CSSHL) U16 division Lake recorded 24 points from 34 games. He also made three appearances for their Sea Devils U17 Prep team in the CSSHL’s U17 division, recording an assist.

Riley Langille: After spending the off-season representing Western Australia at the 2022 Sydney Tange National Championship Langille joined Campbell River Storm for his first season. Playing in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League Langille competed in 23 games, recording two goals and four assists. During the season he also took time away from Campbell River to represent Australia at the 2023 U20 World Championships.

Courtney Mahoney: Second season with the Ontario Hockey Academy. Playing on their Girls’ Juniors team in the Ontario Women’s Hockey League’s U22 division Mahoney recorded eight goals and three assists in her 53 games. During the season she also took time away from the Ontario Hockey Academy to represent Australia at the 2023 U18 Women’s World Championships.
