Sydney Bears sign Braun, Granger, and Portnov

The Sydney Bears have announced the signing of three new players for the upcoming 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) season.

Forward Joseph Braun joins the club after spending 2023 playing for the Sydney Pigeons in Ice Hockey NSW’s Division 2 League where he recorded 39 points from 20 games. Braun also has prior experience playing in Canada having spent a season with the Altona Maroons in the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League and a season with the Winkler Flyers in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Forward Jeremy Granger joins the club after spending 2023 playing for the Sydney Bombers in the East Coast Super League where he recorded 17 points from 15 games. Granger is also a former member of the Central Coast Rhinos having played one game for the club during their 2022 exhibition season.

Defender Max Portnov joins the club having last played for the Sydney Sting in the 2021 East Coast Super League (ECSL) season where he recorded 14 points from 10 games. Over two seasons with the Sting Portnov has competed in 22 ECSL games, scoring four goals and twelve assists.
