The Melbourne Mustangs have appointed Scott Timmins to the position of head coach for the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League season. He replaces Jon Moses who had held the position since July 2023 following the departure of Patrick McMahon. Timmins will also remain on the playing roster after re-signing for his third season with the Mustangs.

Update (9 April 2024): On releasing their 2024 team staff list it is revealed that Scott Timmins will serve as a co-coach with Jon Moses instead of the taking over as his replacement as originally reported.
