The Melbourne Ducks will join the Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL) as their sixth club following a successful application bid. The Ducks will spend the upcoming 2024–25 season playing a series of six induction games before joining the league proper for the 2025–26 AWIHL season. The successful application by the club follows their initial series of exhibition games which were held between October 2023 and February 2024 and saw them compete against the Adelaide Rush, Melbourne Ice and Sydney Sirens.
