2014-15 AWIHL Season: Round 1

The 2014-15 Australian Womens Ice Hockey League got underway this weekend past and saw wins for the Melbourne Ice and Adelaide Adrenaline. Adelaide tops the table after their two wins and are currently one point clear of the Melbourne Ice.

AWIHL Finals: Day Two

The Melbourne Ice have defeated the Adelaide Adrenaline 2-0 in the Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL) final to win the Joan McKowen Memorial Trophy for the second year in a row. Earlier in the day the Adrenaline breat the Brisbane Goannas 4-3 in overtime to advance to the AWIHL final. The Goannas, having lost earlier to the Adrenaline came up against the Sydney Sirens in the days other game to contest the bronze medal. The Goannas went on to win the match 3-1.

    With the final round of the Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL) complete we now move on to the playoffs. Four games were played with Adelaide Adrenaline playing a double header against the Melbourne Ice and the Sydney Sirens hosting the Brisbane Goannas. With their two wins the Melbourne Ice finish the regular season in first place and take the regular season title.
