Day 23 of the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League regular season has finished with the Melbourne Mustangs defeating the Melbourne Ice 5–3 at the O’Brien Icehouse. In the Hellyer Conference, the Sydney Bears move into first place, pushing the Melbourne Ice down to second due to a greater number of wins in regular time and overtime. In the Rurak Conference, the Newcastle Northstars remain in first, nine points ahead of the second placed Brisbane Lightning. The Sydney Bears also move into first place on the league’s combined standings with the Melbourne Ice in second and the Perth Thunder in third. Competition resumes tomorrow with games in Adelaide, Central Coast, Melbourne, and Sydney.
