Australians overseas 2023–24: United Kingdom (part 2)

Continuing our look at the Australian players who were competing overseas during the 2023–24 season. Today is Part 2 of 2 featuring Australians in the United Kingdom.

Darcy Flanagan (NIHL profile): First season in England. Playing for the Oxford City Stars in the National Ice Hockey League’s Division 1 South, Flanagan recorded four goals and five assists from 15 games. Flanagan also competed in one game for Oxford City in the Britton Cup competition.

Joe Smith (BUIHA profile): Second season in the British Universities Ice Hockey Association (BUIHA). Playing as an alternate captain for the Oxford Vikings B in the BUIHA’s Non-Checking Division 2 South, Smith recorded two goals and seven assists from 18 games. Smith also made a brief one game appearance for the Oxford Vikings in the BUIHA’s Non-Checking Division Division 1 South.

Alexander Wardlaw (Scottish Ice Hockey profile): First season in Scotland after spending 2022–23 in England. Playing for the Edinburgh Capitals in the Scottish National League, Wardlaw recorded four goals and nine assists from 21 games. Wardlaw also competed in four games for Edinburgh in the Scottish Cup, recording four assists, and two games in the Northern League.
