The semifinal round of the 2024 East Coast Super League playoffs got underway today. At the Macquarie Ice Rink, the Reach Rebels defeated the Sydney Bombers 3–2 in the first semifinal. The Reach Rebels had qualified for the match after finishing the regular season in fourth place while the Sydney Bombers had qualified after finishing in first. In the second semifinal, the Newcastle Northstars and Polyflor Raptors played out a nil-all draw. The two teams had qualified for the game after finishing the regular season in third and second respectively.
The semifinal round concludes tomorrow with the Polyflor Raptors hosting the Newcastle Northstars and the Reach Rebels taking on the Sydney Bombers, with both games being held at the Macquarie Ice Rink. The semifinals are a two-game series with the winners being determined on a cumulative aggregate format. If tied at the end of game two, continuous overtime is held until a winner is determined.
