2025 Women’s U18 World Championships: Australia loses to Denmark

The Australian women’s national under-18 team have lost 0–6 to the Danish women’s national under-18 team in their second game of the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B tournament in Katowice, Poland. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the match was given to goaltender Katie Meyer. The result is an improvement compared to the last meeting between the two teams in 2018, when Denmark won 9–1.

In the other games of the day, Spain defeated South Korea 4–1 and Poland beat China 4–2. At the end of the second round, Australia has dropped to last place on the standings with South Korea and China moving up a place each to fourth and fifth place respectively. Denmark continues to lead the standings, edging out the second placed Poland on goal difference. The teams have a rest day today and return on 10 January where Australia will take on China for their third game of the competition. The two teams last met at the 2018 World Championships where China won 2–1 in overtime.
