2025 Women’s U18 World Championships: Australia loses to China

The Australian women’s national under-18 team have lost 0–6 to the Chinese women’s national under-18 team in their third game of the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B tournament in Katowice, Poland. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the match was given to captain Natasha Dube. The result is a bit of a decline compared to the last meeting between the two teams in 2018, when China won 2–1 in overtime.

In the other games of the day, Poland defeated Spain 6–2 and Denmark beat South Korea 8–2. At the end of the third round, Australia remains in last place on the standings. Denmark maintains their position in first place, and China moves up to fourth, pushing South Korea down to fifth. The teams have a rest day today and return on 12 January where Australia will take on South Korea for their fourth game of the competition. The two teams last met at the 2024 World Championships where Australia won 3–0.
