2025 Women’s U18 World Championships: Australia loses to Poland and finishes fifth

The Australian women’s national under-18 team have lost 2–5 to the Polish women’s national under-18 team in their final game of the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B tournament in Katowice, Poland. Australia’s two goals were scored by Natasha Dube and Elana Holub. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the match was given to defender Eleanor Bartter. The result is a improvement when compared to last year where Australia lost 5–0 to Poland.

In the other games of the day, China defeated South Korea 5–0 and Denmark beat Spain 4–0. Australia finishes the tournament in fifth place with two points from five games. Denmark finishes in first and earns promotion back to Division I Group A for 2026, while South Korea comes in last and is relegated to Division II Group A for next season. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the tournament was given to forward Elana Holub.
