The Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) has penalised Perth Thunder three points for a “breach of competition rules”. The breach relates to the team’s game against the Newcastle Northstars on 5 April 2025 and is believed to have resulted from import player Benjamin Berard not being cleared to play at the time. The loss of points sees Perth Thunder drop to fourth on the standings with the Newcastle Northstars moving up to third.
