With the 2025–26 season having finished in the Northern Hemisphere we thought we would take a brief look at the Australian players who were competing overseas. Today features Australians in New Zealand. The information is collected from Elite Prospects and so might not be fully comprehensive.
Addison Hodge (NZWIHL profile): Fourth season with Canterbury Inferno. Playing in the New Zealand Women’s Ice Hockey League, Hodge competed in seven games and recorded two penalty minutes. Canterbury went on to finish fourth in the regular season and were knocked of the playoffs in the semifinal round by Auckland Steel.
Cameron Trew (NZIHL profile): Twelfth season with Skycity Stampede. Playing in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League, Trew recorded one assist from 21 games. Skycity went on to win the 2026 playoffs, defeating Dunedin Thunder two games to one in the grand final series.
