Plans for the proposed Canberra Arena have been abandoned after the ACT Government deemed the project no longer viable following their evaluation of an updated proposal. The arena, which was to be located in the district of Tuggeranong, was planned to include two full size ice sheets and have spectator capacity of 3,600. The development partner of the project, Cruachan Investments, has stated that they are now working on a new proposal with options for the facility to be built at different locations.
