The Brisbane Blitz have defeated the Northern Ice 6–1 in an exhibition game at Iceworld Boondall. The Northern Ice are an under-20 team of Canadian Indigenous players from Northern Alberta who have been touring Australia and New Zealand as part of the 2024 Tour of Hope. The match was the final leg of the tour with the Northern Ice having already competed in Adelaide, Melbourne, Queenstown, Sydney, and Wellington.
