The Australian men’s national under-18 team have lost 1-7 to Lithuania in their final game of the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Goaltender James Downie was named best Australian player of the match and best Australian player of the tournament. In other games of the day Great Britain defeated South Korea 4-3 and Poland beat Estonia 4-3 in overtime. Australia finishes the tournament in last place and are relegated to Division II Group B for 2019. Great Britain finish at the top of the standings ahead of Lithuania and gain promotion to Division I Group B for 2019.
