The Canberra Knights announced today that the team has folded and would withdraw from the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL), effective immediately. The club owner cited financial costs, lack of local players and consistently poor performance as the reasons behind the teams closure. This move leaves the AIHL with seven teams to compete in the upcoming 2014 season. The League has yet to advise on what changes will be made to the 2014 schedule.
