USA defeat Canada at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre

Team USA have defeated Team Canada 8-7 in overtime at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Team USA take an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the series with one game to play. The series now moves to Brisbane for the 7 July game at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

Ice Hockey Classic to return in 2018

TLA Worldwide and TEG Live have announced the return of the Ice Hockey Classic series for 2018. The series has increased to three games for 2018 with Brisbane and Adelaide being added, while Melbourne is dropped from the schedule. The organisers have yet to announce whether they will be holding their Ice Hockey Night events at any local ice hockey arenas in 2018. Team Canada have won the previous three additions, most recently defeating the United States in overtime to take the 2017 series 3-2.

Team USA win Game 3 of the 2016 Ice Hockey Classic

Team USA have won Game Three of The Wayne Gretzky 2016 Ice Hockey Classic defeating Team Canada 4-2. Team USA currently trail Team Canada 1-2 in the five game series. The series resumes tomorrow with Game Four being held at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney before move to Brisbane for Game Five.

Tonight’s roster for Team Canada also featured the Adelaide Adrenaline’s Russel Brewer who was selected as the backup goaltender for Ben Scrivens.

2016 Ice Hockey Classic

TLA Worldwide and Nine Live have announced the return of the Ice Hockey Classic series for 2016. The series will again feature Canada and the United States competing in four games in four cities across Australia. Melbourne, Perth and Sydney remain on the schedule, with Brisbane being dropped in favour of Adelaide. Canada won the 2015 edition of the Ice Hockey Classic, defeating the United States three games to one.
