Ruck named head coach of Australian U20 team

Ice Hockey Australia have named David Ruck as head coach of the Australian men’s under-20 team for the upcoming 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division III tournament in Reykjavik, Iceland. Ruck replaces Andrew Petrie in the position with Petrie having coached the team at the 2018 U20 World Championships.

In addition David Ferrari will return as the teams assistant coach.

Sydney Ice Dogs
– The Ice Dogs have announced the signing of Andrew Petrie to the position of head coach for the 2018 season. The announcement comes a month after Petrie left the position of head coach at the Newcastle Northstars. Petrie replaces Christopher Blagg in the position with Blagg taking on the role of club president. Petrie previously coached the Ice Dogs in 2014 and coached the Northstars from 2015 to 2017. Andrew Petrie has stepped down from the position of head coach after three seasons at the club. Timing constraints and tenure length were cited as the reason for the departure. Petrie joined the Northstars in 2015 and coached the club to two Goodall Cup wins in the 2015 and 2016 seasons. A replacement for the position has yet to be decided. Ice Dogs appoint Jespersen as new Head Coach

The Sydney Ice Dogs have announced the signing of Anders Jespersen as their new head coach for the 2015 season. Jespersen started his coaching career in 2010 as a goaltending coach and most recently was the head coach of the Oman national team. Jespersen replaces Andrew Petrie who resigned back in September 2014 to take on the head coach position at the Newcastle North Stars.

Petrie Replaces Doré as Head Coach

The Newcastle North Stars have announced that Garry Doré has stepped down from the head coach position and will be replaced by former Sydney Ice Dogs’ head coach Andrew Petrie for the upcoming 2015 AIHL season. Doré who took over the coaching role in 2012 will continue on as general manager of the club.
