The Australian Women’s national under-18 team have lost to Great Britain 1-5 in their third game of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B tournament. Forward Sara Sammons was named best Australian player of the game after recording the teams only goal. In other games of the day France defeated China 5-2 and Denmark beat Poland 3-1. After three rounds Australia remain fifth in the standings, nine points behind table leaders Denmark. The teams have a rest day today before returning on Thursday where Australia take on Denmark. The two teams last met just before the tournament in an exhibition game with Denmark winning 10-0.
