The Australian women’s national under-18 team have lost 0–11 to the Austrian women’s national under-18 team in their third game of the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B tournament in Katowice, Poland. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the match was given to defender Bella Ma and goaltender Olivia Gargano was named the hardest worker for the team.
In the other games of the day, Poland defeated Spain 5–1 and China beat Great Britain 4–1. At the end of the third round, Australia remains in last place on the standings, while China continues to lead in first with a one point lead over the second placed Poland. The teams have a rest day today and return on 10 January where Australia will take on China for their fourth game of the competition. The two teams last met at the 2025 World Championships where China won 6–0.
