2020 Winter Youth Olympics – Mahoney wins silver, Lake and Sharp bronze

The final day of the 3-on-3 ice hockey tournaments at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games saw Australia pick up three medals. In the women’s tournament Courtney Mahoney‘s Team Black claimed silver after losing to Team Yellow in the gold medal game. Nikki Sharp‘s Team Blue won bronze after beating Team Brown in the third place match. In the men’s tournament Sai Lake‘s Team Brown also picked up the bronze medal after defeating Team Black in their third place game. Team Green went on to win the gold medal in the men’s tournament.

2020 Winter Youth Olympics – Day 5

Day 5 of the 3-on-3 ice hockey tournaments at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games saw the start of the playoffs. In the men’s tournament Sai Lake‘s Team Brown lost to Team Red in the semifinal and will now play for bronze against Team Black.

In the women’s tournament Courtney Mahoney‘s Team Black won their semifinal against Team Brown and advanced to the gold medal game. In the other semifinal Nikki Sharp‘s Team Blue lost to Team Yellow and will now play for bronze against Team Brown.

Day 4 of the 3-on-3 ice hockey tournaments at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games saw another 16 games played. In the men’s tournament Sai Lake‘s Team Brown picked up two wins and Riley Langille‘s Team Blue lost both of their games. Team Brown finishes the preliminary round in second and advances to the playoffs while Team Blue finishes eighth and fails to qualify.

In the women’s tournament Courtney Mahoney‘s Team Black picked up two wins, Ebony Brunt‘s Team Grey and Nikki Sharp‘s Team Blue recorded a win and a loss, and Molly Lukowiak‘s Team Orange lost both of their games. In the preliminary round standings Team Black finishes first and advances to the playoffs along Team Blue which finishes in second. Team Grey and Team Orange finish sixth and eighth respectively with both teams failing to qualify.

In the men’s tournament Sai Lake‘s Team Brown picked up a win over Team Black and Riley Langille‘s Team Blue lost their opening game to Team Grey. Rosters released for 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has released the rosters for the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games’ 3-on-3 ice hockey tournaments. In the men’s tournament Australia will be represented by Riley Langille in the blue team and Sai Lake in the brown team. In the women’s tournament Nikki Sharp has been named in the blue team, Courtney Mahoney in the black team, Molly Lukowiak in the orange team and Ebony Brunt in the grey team. The 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland from 9 January to 22 January.
