The 2014 Ginsberg National Championship was completed today with Queensland defeating South Australia 4-1 in the gold medal game. The Ginsberg tournament is open to players 13 and under and is held between the State Associations. This years tournament consisted of teams from the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia. All games were held at the Ice Arena in Adelaide and the tournament ran from 7 August to 10 August. Queensland’s Zac Gumm and South Australia’s Ben Handberg top scored for the tournament finishing with 10 points. South Australia’s Jeremy Friederich finished as the top goaltender, with a best save percentage of 0.926.
