The Brisbane Blitz have defeated the Adelaide Generals 3-2 in the final of the 2016 Australian Junior Ice Hockey League’s Tier 2 tournament to earn the wild card spot in the upcoming 2016 AJIHL playoffs. The Blitz finished the preliminary round with three wins from four games, finishing two points ahead of the second placed Generals and seven ahead of the hosts, the Junior Brave. The Blitz and Generals advanced to the final of the tournament where the Blitz bounced back from their loss earlier that day to defeat the Generals. The Blitz will now compete in the 2016 AJIHL playoffs which are scheduled for 27 and 28 February at the Penrith Ice Palace.
