2017 World Championships: Australia loses to Romania

The Australian men’s national team have lost to Romania 1-5 in their fourth game of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Goaltender Anthony Kimlin was named best Australian player of the match for a third game after stopping 22 of 27 shots on goal. In other games of the day the Spain defeated Serbia 5-4 in overtime and Belgium beat Iceland 9-3. At the end of the fourth round Australia have dropped back to second place, one point behind the leaders Romania. The teams have a rest day today before returning on Sunday where Australia take on Belgium in their final game of the tournament.
