Round 1 of the 2019 Australian Women’s Tier 2 Show Case Series has finished with wins for the New South Wales Bombers, Melbourne Chargers, WA Blaze and Canberra Pirates. The Bombers sit atop the standings at the end of the round, two points of the second placed Chargers. Round 2 of the competition is scheduled for 13 and 14 July in Adelaide.
There have also been a couple of changes during the off-season. Previously announced as the Perth Blaze, the Western Australian team have changed their name to the WA Blaze. The team is the second to use to use the Blaze name with the Brisbane Blaze previously representing Queensland in 2017. The other change to the competition sees the Southern Stars drop out of the competition having represented Queensland during the 2018 season.
