Australians overseas: Hayden Dawes

Following the completion of the 2019 season with the CBR Brave Hayden Dawes returned to the United States for his second year with Lindenwood University in Division 1 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. He finished the 2019-20 season with 22 points from 28 games. Prior to joining Lindenwood in 2017 Dawes spent two seasons playing in the NCAA Division III, first with Utica College before moving across to the University of Wisconsin–Superior.

Dawes played his the majority of his junior hockey years in Alberta with a short stint in Manitoba. Playing at the junior-A level he played 116 games in the Alberta Junior Hockey League and ten games in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Back in Australia Dawes joined the Brave in 2018 and returned for his second season with the club in 2019. He was also named on the Australian men’s national team roster for the World Championships before their cancellation due to the coronavirus.
