Defenceman Kai Hughes recently completed his first season with the Greater Vancouver Canadians. Playing in the BC Hockey Major Midget League Hughes finished the 2019-20 season with two penalties in minutes from three games. Prior to joining the Canadians Hughes had spent the 2018-19 season with the Pursuit Of Excellence Hockey Academy playing in both the Bantam Prep and Bantam Varsity divisions of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. Locally Hughes has represented Victoria on a couple of occasions, playing in the Ginsberg and DeFris national championships.
