Australians overseas: Sean McLean

Forward Sean McLean recently completed his first season with Maryville University. Playing in the American Collegiate Hockey Association’s Division II he finished the 2019-20 season with four points from seven games. McLean started playing overseas in 2015 playing minor hockey in Canada. Since then he has played four seasons in the United States including his most recent with Maryville. During that period McLean also played a season in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League (NZIHL) with the Dunedin Thunder. He finished the 2019 NZIHL season with five points from 16 games.

Locally McLean is a former member of the AJIHL’s Perth Sharks playing in four seasons from 2014 to 2019. In the national championships he has represented both Western Australia and the Australian Capital Territory in the Tange tournaments
