Australians overseas: Tim Rye

Forward Tim Rye recently completed his first season with Maryville University. Playing in the American Collegiate Hockey Association he finished the 2019-20 season with three points from 37 games. Rye started playing overseas in 2014, first playing two seasons of minor hockey in Canada. In 2016 he relocated to the United States where he has completed a season of minor hockey and two seasons of junior hockey.

Locally Rye is a former member of the AIHL’s Sydney Bears having been part of the team from 2017 to 2018. He is a former representative of the Australian under-20 team playing at the World Championships in 2018. In the national championships Rye has represented New South Wales on multiple occasions competing in the Ginsberg, DeFris and Tange tournaments.
