McCormack Cup set to start in May

As a replacement to the 2021 AIHL season the CBR Brave, Newcastle Northstars and Sydney Ice Dogs will compete in the newly formed McCormack Cup. The 18 game tournament, which is held in conjunction with Mick McCormack and the Australian Ice Hockey League, will run from May to August 2021.

The Sydney Bears were originally included on the announcement but were removed without comment. During the tournament the Sydney Ice Dogs will play out for the Erina Ice Arena on the Central Coast instead of the normal home venue, the Macquarie Ice Rink.
