Ice Sports Tasmania have issued a media release in which they call for the Tasmanian State Government to help establish a full-sized ice sports centre. The release states that they are seeking government investment and are exploring a potential partnership between the government and private sector. Tasmania will lose its only ice rink on 21 May when the Glenorchy Ice Skating Rink closes. To assist in their call Ice Sports Tasmania are also running a petition which at the time of writing has over 1,200 signatures.
