The Sydney Bears have defeated the Central Coast Rhinos 5–3 in their exhibition game at the Erina Ice Arena. The result gives the Bears their first win of their pre-season having lost their other two games against the Newcastle Northstars. The Rhinos are back in action on 1 May when they take on the Sydney Ice Dogs at the Erina Ice Arena. The Bears next game is also on 1 May when they host the Melbourne Mustangs in the opening round of the 2022 AIHL season.
