2022 Women’s U18 World Championships: Australia to play the Netherlands for bronze

The Australian women’s national under-18 team will play the Netherlands in the bronze medal match of the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division II tournament. The Netherlands lost their final game of the qualifying round 1–2 in overtime to Great Britain to finish in third in Group D. Australia had earlier qualified for the bronze medal match after winning both of their qualifying round games and finishing at the top of Group E. In the other games since our last update Mexico defeated Kazakhstan 6–1 and Latvia beat Turkey 5–1.

All teams now advance to either a medal game or placement match on 5 July besides Iceland who finished at the bottom of the Group F standings to place ninth. Spain will take on Great Britain for the gold medal and promotion to Division I Group B, the Netherlands play Australia for bronze, Latvia plays Turkey for fifth place and Mexico take on Kazakhstan for seventh place.
