The Sydney Bears have defeated the Melbourne Mustangs 7–3 in their semifinal at the O’Brien Icehouse. The Bears and Mustangs had qualified for the first semifinal after finishing third and fourth in the 2022 AIHL regular season respectively. The Bears now advance to tomorrows preliminary final against the loser of the second semifinal involving the CBR Brave and Newcastle Northstars.
