The Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) have announced that the Central Coast Rhinos will join the league from 2023 after being granted a full licence. The Rhinos had been operating under a provisional license during the 2022 AIHL season which saw them compete in a number of exhibition games. During the season they played in seven exhibition games, winning one. The Rhinos previously competed in the AIHL from 2005 to 2008 before withdrawing due to a licencing disagreement.
