Ice Hockey Australia (IHA) have announced the rough dates for the 2023 National Championships and international team events. New additions for the 2023 season are the creation of a para ice hockey national championship and a women’s Trans-Tasman Challenge. The international men’s and women’s events may also be adapted into an Asia-Pacific style tournament though further details have yet to be released. The IHA are currently seeking expressions of interest for event hosts which is expected to conclude around mid-December. - 16 June 2023: Jim Brown National Championship moved from 14 to 16 October (or 21 to 23 October) to 7 to 10 November
- 13 July 2023: Para National Championship moved from 14 to 16 October (or 21 to 23 October) to 11 to 13 October. The Jim Brown is moved from 7 to 10 November to 9 to 12 November
- 11 October: Para National Championship moved from 11 to 13 October to 12 to 13 October
Did they decide to drop the Trans-Tasman All-Star game?
They announced this thing in February and since then, radio silence.
Not sure, I assume they did in favor of the national team event. Similar to the two preseason AWIHL events that were planned but quietly dropped. I’ll check in with Mark Weber and see if he knows.
Confirmed by Mark Weber that the All-Star Game was replaced by the Challenge.
