Dates announced for the 2023 National Championships and international events

Ice Hockey Australia (IHA) have announced the rough dates for the 2023 National Championships and international team events. New additions for the 2023 season are the creation of a para ice hockey national championship and a women’s Trans-Tasman Challenge. The international men’s and women’s events may also be adapted into an Asia-Pacific style tournament though further details have yet to be released. The IHA are currently seeking expressions of interest for event hosts which is expected to conclude around mid-December.   • Women’s National Championship: 20 to 23 April
  • McCrae-Williamson Jamboree: 9 to 12 June
  • Sydney Tange National Championship: 6 to 9 July
  • Kurt Defris National Championship: 20 to 23 July
  • Phillip Ginsberg National Championship: 2 to 5 August
  • Para National Championship: 12 to 13 October
  • Jim Brown National Championship: 9 to 12 November
  • International men’s Trans-Tasman Challenge (or Asia-Pacific Challenge): TBA
  • International women’s Trans-Tasman Challenge (or Asia-Pacific Challenge): TBA

Updates

  • 31 January 2023: Updates to the 2023 National Championships schedule:
    • Women’s National Championship moved from May to 20 to 23 April
    • McCrae-Williamson Jamboree confirmed for 9 to 12 June
    • Kurt Defris National Championship confirmed for 20 to 23 July
    • Phillip Ginsberg National Championship moved from 3 to 6 August (or 10 to 13 August) to 2 to 5 August
  • 16 June 2023: Jim Brown National Championship moved from 14 to 16 October (or 21 to 23 October) to 7 to 10 November
  • 13 July 2023: Para National Championship moved from 14 to 16 October (or 21 to 23 October) to 11 to 13 October. The Jim Brown is moved from 7 to 10 November to 9 to 12 November
  • 11 October: Para National Championship moved from 11 to 13 October to 12 to 13 October

  1. Did they decide to drop the Trans-Tasman All-Star game?

    They announced this thing in February and since then, radio silence.
