The Australian women’s national team have defeated the Croatian women’s national team 19–0 in their third game of the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group B tournament in Cape Town, South Africa. Lindsey Kiliwnik led the team in scoring with four goals followed by Michelle Clark-Crumpton, Stephenie Cochrane and Sharna Godfrey with three each, Chloe Walker with two, and Ashlie Aparicio, Isla Malcolm, Marina Nottle and Sara Sammons with one each. Isla Malcolm’s goals were also her first in international competition. The IIHF award for best Australian player of the match was given to forward Sara Sammons and forward Lindsey Kiliwnik was given the hardest worker award by the team.
At the end of the fourth day Australia remain third on the standings, trailing the first placed New Zealand on win percentage. Australia now has a two-day break before returning on 26 February to take on New Zealand in their final game of the tournament. The two teams last met at the 2020 World Championships where Australia won 7–1.
