Perth Thunder announce six new signings and two re-signings

The Perth Thunder have announced the signing of six new players and two re-signings for the upcoming 2023 Australian Ice Hockey league (AIHL) season.

Liam Campbell joins the club after spending 2022 with the Cockburn Blackhawks in Ice Hockey WA’s Premier League. With the Blackhawks he competed in 15 games, recording two goals and four assists.

Dillon Dewar joins the club after spending 2022 with the Northern Vikings and Perth Sharks in Ice Hockey WA’s Premier League. He also recently competed for the Melbourne Glaciers in the 2022–23 AJIHL season and was part of the Australian men’s under-20 national team at the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championships.

Luke Doyle joins the club after spending 2022 with the Cockburn Blackhawks and Perth Sharks in Ice Hockey WA’s Premier League. He also recently competed for the Adelaide Generals in the 2022–23 AJIHL season and was part of the Australian men’s under-20 national team at the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championships.

Riley Langille joins the club after spending the 2022–23 season with the Campbell River Storm of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League. With Campbell River he currently has two goals and four assists from 23 games. Langille was also recently part of the Australian men’s under-20 national team at the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championships.

Reece Lukowiak joins the club after spending the 2022–23 season with the Fort Wayne Spacemen in the United States Premier Hockey League’s Premier Division. With Fort Wayne he currently has a goal and 14 penalty minutes from 23 games.

Yannic Lodge re-joins for his second season with the club after making his debut in 2019. Lodge spent 2022 playing for the West Coast Flyers Orange in Ice Hockey WA’s Premier League where he recorded 11 goals and 18 assists from 14 games.

Rhys Pelliccione re-signs for his third season with the club, although has yet to make his debut after serving as a backup during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He spent 2022 playing for the Perth Sharks and West Coast Flyers Blue in Ice Hockey WA’s Premier League where he averaged a 0.877 save percentage during the regular season.

Drew Robson joins the club after spending 2022 with the Cockburn Blackhawks and Perth Sharks in Ice Hockey WA’s Premier League. He also recently competed for the Adelaide Generals in the 2022–23 AJIHL season and was part of the Australian men’s under-20 national team at the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championships.
